Ireland 2023 - Day 11

The summation of the day is that it's good to be home, but the pile of washing isn't quite so good!

The only aim for yesterday (we were too tired to write the blog last night) was to make it home by a reasonable time and we sort of succeeded pulling in to the driveway just after 7pm.  We had looked at a few options for how to break up the journey, but considering the little known Welsh law that it's illegal to pass Swansea without a trip to Joe's Ice Cream, we decided that a trip to Mumbles would be our main break for some chips and the aforementioned trip to Joe's.

Onwards from Mumbles, and once we'd passed the slow traffic through Swansea, it was only the usual hold-ups around Newport and Bristol as we headed east down the M4.  We had one further break near Swindon at Coate Water Park and whilst it would have been nice to go for a walk around the reservoir, the kids were happy on the play park and we just sat and watched them on a big rock!

So to the highlights of the holiday...

Paloma - Going on all the different boats and birds of prey.

Forrest - Birds of prey and trip to Hoo Zoo.

Amber - Birds of prey and wild camping day seeing the kids have fun of the bodyboards.

Matt - Aran Islands trip and successfully driving all the narrow roads and getting the van back in one piece!

We have a few smaller holiday plans for 2024, plus a big garden project at home, so I don't expect a big adventure like this one, but I'm sure we'll blog whatever we do!

Blogged by Matt.
